So many people ask about our name. Boofola is a word invented by the one and only William Shakespeare. He created many words, some are still used and others are almost lost to time. Boofola means “A joke that gets loud or boisterous.” That is exactly how this company started, as a joke. Then was added the hopes of eventually becoming larger.
You might be wondering what the joke was. It all started on social media when for an upcoming PRIDE event, someone asked if anyone was allowed to attend, or if they had to be a part of the LGBTQIA+ Community to attend. Our founder then made a joke about membership cards. Within minutes multiple dozens of people had asked where they could get their own. MyMembershipCards.com (no longer in service) was born. Sales were quickly made and shipped to customers all over the US and even to Canada. With the quick growth, the search for a shorter and better name was on.
With an existing history in almost all things technology, a love of design, and a passion for printing the new company with its new name was legally formed. BOOFOLA LLC was officially incorporated on May 23rd, 2019. Unfortunately, a bright future wasn’t yet in the cards for this young company. How could anyone know or expect what would very soon happen to the World? Even though COVID technically wasn’t something new to the world, the 2019 version was something we hadn’t seen before and weren’t even close to being prepared for.
A global pandemic wasn’t enough to keep us down. We were out quite a bit but hadn’t yet given up. Due to most of our clients being shut down, and then many never opening their doors again, lay-offs for those recently hired to support our fledgling company were the only option. Those employees have now gone on to greener pastures, and we wish them all the best in the world, including hopes of working with them again in some way soon. The future is calling and we are ready to answer the call!
The more than 2 years pause due to the pandemic gave us the opportunity to get a little more time to get the services around to offer to our clientele. Now we have e-commerce, full-fledged website hosting, a mass emailing program, full printing capabilities, and so much more.
All of this might seem like a lot to handle and even more to navigate as a customer, but we promise that you will have us to guide you through everything from start to finish. The only way that we can grow as a company is if we can help you grow your small business. We will do anything possible to help you succeed.
